Environment and Sustainability:
This is a slow fashion business, with only single pieces in our inventory and hats made to order with no excess inventory, made to last of high quality materials. Wherever possible we use natural biodegradable materials: Linen, fur felt, straw, wool, cotton and silk. Traditional methods creating a minimum of waste, with scraps reused or passed for reuse and recycling. Our packaging is made of recycled cardboard.

East Village Hats is a 100% woman owned small business. And is qualified as a City of New York Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE).
Local manufacture:
Small Artisan business and member of Made in NYC. We carry on hand crafting skills through production, mentorship, apprenticeship and workshops.
