Join Maor Zabar for a 1 day workshop learning to usesilk dupioni to make this beautiful headband.

Throughout my years of work, Silk Dupioni has remained one of Maor’s most cherished andrecurring materials. Its distinctive texture lends it a raw, organic quality that sets it apart from other fabrics.

Using a specialized stiffening technique I have developed, we will explore how to transform this flat, two-dimensional fabric into a three-dimensional masterpiece.

Together, you’ll create vibrant, organic anemone flowers, which you will then assemble into a custom-made headpiece.

In this process, you’ll cover:

• Fabric Stiffening: Mastering the art of prepping silk.

• Pattern Making: Designing the structural foundation of the flower.

• Silk Dyeing: Adding rich, bespoke color to your petals.

• Sculpting: Shaping petals to achieve a natural, lifelike form.

• Assembly & Millinery: Constructing the final flowers and building a unique headband using Sinamay straw.

All you need is a creative eye.
